Event Time and Date
The 2017 1st Annual GEMSS Symposium is meant to further our organization’s goals of creating a community of Early Modern graduate student scholars on campus. Our foremost goal is to create a forum for conversation between emerging scholars in the Early Modern period across departments. This is a daylong event in which students from departments across campus will be given the opportunity to present their work among colleagues and faculty members in order to receive feedback from an interdisciplinary audience. Presentations will be given in three separate panels, separated by a lunch open to all who wish to attend (there will be an RSVP prior to the event). After these three panels, we will have a keynote presentation given by Prof. Steven Hutchinson from the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. Participation and attendance is open to all, and we hope to see all from the campus community that finds a connection between their work and interests and GEMSS’s broad focus on Early Modernity.
