Parent Organization: University of Wisconsin - Madison
Global Public Health Brigades is a global health volunteer organization that provides students with the opportunity to improve the quality of life in rural communities around the world through sustainable home infrastructure projects that assist with improving public health problems. To do so, we participate in brigades internationally. These brigades emphasize integrated community development, so we are always working with communities not for them. We have previously worked in Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama, and plan to return to Nicaragua over winter break of 2017.
While we are not participating in the brigades abroad, we fundraise for our trips to reduce personal costs for members who want to participate in the brigade. Additionally, we hold socials to allow for members to share interests, have fun, and get to know each other.
More information about the international Global Brigades non-profit that we are a chapter of can be found at: https://www.globalbrigades.org/
