About

The mission of the Accessible Law Initiative is to advocate for a free, open, and publicly accessible legal system in the state of Wisconsin and nationwide. The organization shall pursue this broader mission through a number of specific objectives, including but not limited to:
Developing a streamlined legal citation system for public use
Publishing literature relating to legal accessibility
Promoting free, publicly accessible legal research platforms
Advocating the adoption of accessible language and procedures in academic and court environments
Advocating for equitable legal publishing standards, including the adoption of public domain citation systems in other jurisdictions
The organization also seeks to create a network within the law school and the greater legal community between those who believe in this purpose, and cultivate resources within the law school to support members.
