The purpose of AWA is to help its members prepare for a career in agriculture and agriculture related fields; to aid women in agriculture in achieving their goals; to improve communication among women in agriculture; and for the general betterment of agriculture.

Mondays at 6:30pm

Events:

Breakfast on the Farm, AWA Day, interview & resume preparation, career workshops, speakers, social dinners, spring formal, numerous service projects and other social events

Membership Primarily:

Undergraduate students

Potential Requirements:

  • Attend weekly potential meetings
  • Attend initiation
Once a Member:
  • Complete 2 service, 1 fundraising and 1 bonding activity per semester
  • Pay Membership dues per semester to AWA UW-Madison/AWA, Inc.
  • Attend organization meetings every other Monday
  • Attend mandatory event, Breakfast on the Farm & AWA Day

Potential (New member) Requirements: Attend weekly potential meetings where you'll learn more about the history of AWA and how we operate. You will also be required to attend initiation. Once a Member: Complete 2 service, 1 fundraising and 1 bonding activity per semester; pay membership dues of $75.00/semester to AWA UW-Madison; your membership dues include 5 meal passes at the AWA House, a free AWA activity, and your AWA Day meal. You must attend organization meetings every other Monday; and attend mandatory events such as Breakfast on the Farm & AWA Day.
