Parent Organization: University of Wisconsin - Madison
The Concrete Canoe Team provides a fun atmosphere for applying engineering principles learned in the classroom, along with learning important team and project management skills needed in the career world.
This organization challenges the teams knowledge, creativity and stamina, while showcasing the versatility and durability of concrete as a building material. Team members can get involved with concrete mix development, canoe design, construction, and paddling. The team gains points in competition from final product, technical paper, presentation, and co-ed races.
Membership Requirements (for example GPA requirements, membership fees)
Membership is open to all students, typically of any engineering discipline. Members of the team should have an interest in engineering and construction and will need to register themselves with ASCE to attend regional conferences, and national ASCE to attend the national concrete canoe competition. Attendance of meetings on a consistent basis is required for members planning on attending the regional and national conferences.Which of these most accurately describes the student membership of your organization (not including non-student members)?
