Parent Organization: University of Wisconsin - Madison

Live Free is a UW-Madison student organization that promotes wellbeing and community-integration for students in recovery from substance use and other addictive behaviors. We are passionate about sharing resources, encouraging self-discovery, and enriching the social lives of our members. Above all, our mission is to maintain unity with the greater community, and facilitate connectedness and hope for those on a recovery journey. Whether you are recovering, curious about it, or in support of others doing it—whether you want to have fun or create change—we welcome you!

Membership Requirements (for example: GPA requirements, membership fees)

1. At least 75% of members must be UW-Madison students, enrolled in either undergraduate or graduate programs. 2. Up to 25% of membership can be comprised of individuals who are affiliated with an institution of higher education and support collegiate recovery and wellness. 3. Members must respect a substance-free environment. This includes attending Live Free meetings, events, and activities while not under the influence. We are here to celebrate recovery. 4. Active membership is defined by attendance at Live Free meetings and participation in Live Free activities. A member’s voting privilege becomes effective at their second organization meeting (see #1 of Article VII: Section A). 5. Live Free complies with Regent Policy 30-06, which states, “Student organizations that select their members or officers on the basis of commitment to a set of beliefs (e.g., religious or political beliefs) may limit membership, officer positions, or participation in the organization to students who affirm that they support the organization’s goals and agree with its beliefs, so long as no student is excluded from membership, officer positions, or participation on the basis of his or her race, color, creed other than commitment to the beliefs of the organization, religion, national origin, disability, ancestry, age, sexual orientation, pregnancy, marital status or parental status, or, unless exempt under Title IX, sex.”

Which of these most accurately describes the student membership of your organization (not including non-student members)?
